Meet our staff: Osei Assibey Bonsu

Surrounded by computers, cables and many screens at our Teledata headquarters is Osei Assibey Bonsu. He is a network engineer at Teledata.

With his in-depth knowledge of our networks and he and his team’s constant monitoring of our network across Ghana, we can bring our customers across Ghana their fast, secure and reliable internet service.

“What we do here is to monitor the backbone network. When I say this what I mean is the different devices that are interconnected and that allow us to be able to surf the world and get our information and data,” he explains.

Each screen in his office has its purpose, but they are all connected to ensure Teledata’s services run smoothly.

Osei Assibey Bonsu works on a shift system with other network engineers, so there’s always someone monitoring our internet service.

Technology has developed – and Teledata is a testament to that.

Osei Assibey Bonsu says Ghana has seen huge growth in internet development.

“In the past, we used to struggle to even browse the internet, with the slowness and old equipment. Now, with modern technological advancement we have specialty devices that help us move faster, and then we can access data very fast.”

He adds that Teledata has its place in the development of technology in Ghana. At Teledata we are rolling out fiber networks. This will help households and businesses become more efficient and better connected.

How Lemmings helped Osei Assibey Bonsu into his current job

At six years old Osei first got his hands on a computer. He played the old game Lemmings.

“I didn’t know what I was doing, just moving forwards and back! But it helped me to generate some interest, and now, here I am! Surrounded by computers every day!”
