What Is Spyware?

What is Spyware? George R.R. Martin in A Clash of Kings wrote The unseen enemy is always the most fearsome and that rings true for spyware. Most malware obstructs, interfere or destroy your device completely but spyware is completely different, because it specifically goes beyond damaging devices or data, and goes for your personal identity and real assets.  Running unnoticed in the background it collects information or gives remote access to its creator. It really is sneaky by definition and virtually undetectable one installed.

What is Spyware? The basic concept of spyware is simple, it’s a spying software that runs unnoticed in the background. Always hidden from the user in order to gain information about internet interaction, track online activities, record keystrokes (also known as keylogging) to collect financial information such as online banking accounts and passwords, or credit card information and other valuable data. They can also if they so desire lock you out or slow down your device by overextending your processing power and utilizing internet bandwidth to run malware.

What is Spyware? If you just want to stay safe there’s not much you can do other than using a very good anti-spyware tool. Most advanced antivirus products include spyware removal as part of their anti-malware suites.
